Grow Happy, Healthy Plants
Our unique liner is designed for optimal plant health, featuring multiple aeration slots and drainage holes that promote air flow to the soil and prevent water from pooling. Additionally, the liner features a water spout, making it easy to bottom-water your plants.
To start planting, simply add the provided drainage material to the bottom of the liner, then add soil and your desired plant. Finish by pouring soil around the plant to secure it in place and water.

How to Get Started
To get started, add the provided drainage material to the bottom of the liner, then add soil and your desired plant. Finally, pour soil around the plant to secure it in place and water.

Water your Way
Water once the top 1” of soil becomes dry to ensure proper hydration, typically once a week.
Top watering may be achieved by removing the liner from the pot and rinsing the soil over the sink, allowing the excess water to finish dripping before replacing it in its pot.
You can also bottom-water by filling the bottom 1 inch of the pot with water and allowing it to be absorbed over the course of one hour's time, then removing any excess water from the bottom. Plants such as African Violets and Christmas Cactus will prefer this method.
These pots can also be used for soilless substrates such as orchid bark or expanded clay pebbles. Learn more about watering in our blog post Ways to Water.

Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to delivering your purchase to you as quickly as possible.
How often do I need to water?
The frequency of watering your houseplants depends on various factors such as the type of plant, the size of the pot, the temperature and humidity in your home, and the amount of light the plant receives.
In general, most houseplants need to be watered once a week or once every 10 to 14 days. However, some plants, such as succulents and cacti, need to be watered less frequently, while others, like tropical plants, may need to be watered more often.
A good rule of thumb is to check the soil moisture every few days by sticking your finger about an inch into the soil. If the soil is dry at that depth, it's time to water the plant. If the soil is still moist, wait a few more days before checking again.
What kind of soil should I use?
Although every plant will have soil specifics, for houseplants it is best to use a well-draining, high-quality potting mix or soil-less mix specifically formulated for indoor plants.
Is it possible to grow herbs?
Yes,
many herbs, such as basil, parsley, mint, and cilantro, can be grown
successfully in pots indoors, as long as they are given adequate light and
care. When growing herbs indoors, it is important to provide them with bright,
indirect light, well-draining soil, and regular watering. In addition, herbs
can be fertilized regularly with a balanced fertilizer to ensure they receive
the nutrients they need to thrive.
Where should I buy houseplants?
You can get houseplants at various places, including:
Garden centers and nurseries
Home improvement stores
Online plant retailers
Farmers markets and plant fairs
Specialty plant stores
How do I fertilize?
We suggest using a water-soluble fertilizer and following the mixing instructions. For your plants, dilute the solution and bottom water it. Rinse the plants next time they are watered to wash away any excess mineral build-up.
Can it be used indoors/Outdoors?
The Happy Roots Plant Pot is designed for indoor use. If used outdoors, be aware that rain can pool in the outer pot and cause over-watering if left to soak for too long. However, all materials are temperature and UV resistant.
What is in the drainage material?
The drainage material consists of: zeolite, pumice, lava rock and fertilizer pellets.
